Description: This training will provide an overview of the vulnerable populations within Maryland using recent data collected through BRFSS, NHANES, HRQOL, NHIS, and other disease surveillance systems. Once participants understand the vulnerable populations in Maryland, they will review marketing best-practices and strategies for engaging and retaining participants. Materials will include various tools and resources developed by the CDC and other organizations, such as the Personal Success Tool (Retention Tool) and the Program Champion Strategy Toolkit for the NDPP.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the vulnerable populations within Maryland.
  • Identify marketing best-practices to reach vulnerable populations.
  • Review strategies for increasing participant engagement and retention.
  • Recognize existing tools and resources for marketing, engagement, and retention in EBPs.
